Funding & Scholarships

Studying abroad is one of the most enriching experiences of your college career, but many students are
intimidated by the cost. The good news is that students who normally qualify for financial aid can also
apply these awards to their study abroad program fees. We encourage you to meet with a
representative from the Financial Aid Office who can answer your questions about federal aid and
private loans.

There are also a variety of scholarship opportunities to help you fund your time abroad:

DSU Community & Global Engagement Student Scholarship – Awards of up to $500 to help students fund
high impact practices and allow them the opportunity to fully embrace “active learning. active life.”

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program – Undergraduate grant program for U.S. citizens of
limited financial means to enable them to study abroad, thereby internationalizing their outlook and
better preparing them to thrive in the global economy. It is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students
who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding.

IIE Passport Study Abroad Funding – Search engine for hundreds of study abroad scholarships,
fellowships, grants, and paid internships.
