Daegu Haany Exchange Program

The City

Daegu is the fourth largest city in South Korea with 2.5 million residents. It is located in southeastern Korea and is about 50 miles from the seacoast. Daegu is known for producing high-quality apples, which is how it got its nickname of “Apple City”. Areas of notoriety include fashion and high-tech industries, as well as being the Oriental medicine cultural center.

The University

Daegu Haany University specializes in training for those studying Oriental medicine, but also offers study in child welfare, tourism, and police administration.

Area of Study

Students may begin or continue their study of the Korean Language with varying levels of language courses offered. There will be one or possibly two courses offered in English each semester on various topics.

Fluent Korean language speakers with proper prerequisities may take courses in other areas of study.

Requirements

  • 3.0 minimum GPA
  • Resume
  • Two letters of recommendation from DSU faculty/staff and one additionally letter from an off-campus reference
